Easy Vegan Tofu Burgers

These tofu burgers are super easy and quick to make and a different way to enjoy tofu. It is smoky and full of spices that give it all the flavour. Perfect with a burger bun but also on its own.

Easy Vegan Tofu Burgers

A lot of veggie and vegan burgers are made with beans or fake meat. But this recipe is different and I was really satisfied with the result. It’s a great way to use tofu in a different way and it is super easy too. These easy vegan tofu burgers are seasoned with onion, paprika, oregano and tomato paste. I hope you give them a try!

Easy Vegan Tofu Burgers with burger buns

What you need

  • Firm tofu
  • Onion
  • Tomato paste
  • Oregano or another herb
  • Paprika
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil

Step by step instructions

First, crumble up the tofu finely with your hands. Then add onion, tomato paste, oregano paprika, salt and pepper and oat flour. Mix well then add olive oil and mix again.

Form 4 patties with your hands,  place on a baking tray and cook for 25 to 30 minutes at 180 C, flipping halfway. I served them with burger buns, mushroom sauce (recipe below), lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce.

Equipment

  • Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 block of tofu 280g
  • 1 onion small
  • 2 tbsp tomato pasta
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tsp paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Mushroom sauce

  • 100 grams mushrooms
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • First, crumble up the tofu finely with your hands. Then add onion, tomato paste, oregano paprika, salt and pepper and oat flour. Mix well then add olive oil and mix again. Form 4  patties with your hands, place on a baking tray and cook for 25 to 30 minutes at 180 C, flipping halfway.
  • For the mushrooms sauce, sautee onion in some olive oil, then add mushroom and cook until soft then season and blend everything, adding some water if necessary.
  • I served them with burger buns, mushroom sauce, lettuce, tomato and bbq sauce
