These banana oatmeal bars are a super easy breakfast or snack and perfect on the go! They’re made with simple ingredients like oats, bananas and nut butter and they’re addictive!
They are vegan, oil-free and gluten-free.
I made these as I was looking for a different type of snack and I came with these healthy bars. I had them for breakfast too and they were the perfect meal to start my day!
These banana oatmeal bars are easy, healthy, filling and seriously delicious! The taste is similar to banana bread and the texture is chewy and soft.
These vegan banana oatmeal bars require simple ingredients:
- Oats and oat flour (can be made by blending oats)
- Maple syrup or any other sweetener
- Baking powder
- Cinnamon
- Flax seeds
- Plant milk
- Nut butter
- Vanilla extract
- Bananas
- Chocolate chips
You can play around with the ingredients and customise the recipe to your liking:
- Nut butter – You can use any
- Chocolate chips – you can substitute with raisins, nuts and seeds
- Spices: you can add ginger, all spice
How to make these healthy banana oatmeal bars
First mix the dry ingredients: oats, oat flour, baking powder, flax seeds and cinnamon.
Then add the mashed bananas, nut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and plant milk. Mix to combine then fold in the chocolate chips
Pour onto a greased pan or use baking paper and cook in the oven for 25 minutes at 180C.
When they are out of the oven cut them in bars or squares and enjoy! I hope you love these as much as I do. If you try them let me know below!
How to conserve them
Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge and they will last 4/5 days.
Freeze them, and they will last for about 2/3 months. When you want to eat them, take them out and let them cool down or heat them up slightly in the microwave.

- 2 cups oats
- 1/2 cup oat flour
- 3 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup plant milk
- 3 tbsp nut butter I used almond
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 bananas mashed
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1/3 cup chocolate chips plus more for topping
Instructions
- Mix oats, oat flour, baking powder, flax seeds and cinnamon
- Then add mashed banana, nut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract and plant milk. Mix to combine then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour onto a greased pan or use baking paper, top with some more chocolate chips and cook in the oven for 25 minutes at 180C.
